3Great idea, but bad decissions and too limited
By Markus Egger
This product is a great idea. A small wearable camera. Who wouldn't want that?Well, unfortunately, there are a number of flaws with this device. For one, the quality is not very good. 15 frames per second and low resolution. This means your videos are not going to look as good as the example videos. Also, the camera has a somewhat narrow field of vision. It would be much better if it taped a wider angle, because you are not going to be that good at aiming the thing. (You can kinda see the effect in their sample video on YouTube where the guy proposes to his girlfriend and video tapes mostly her chest... it's involuntarily funny). Also, somehow the camera would need a serious image stabilizer. I have no idea how that would work with a camera like that, but the reality is that people move their heads a lot and very fast and with the low frame rate and resolution, that is a problem to begin with, and even if that was better, people watching your videos are still going to get disoriented or worse, unless you seriously restrict your movements. The device also doesn't seem to be very sturdy. My ear-plug part broke off the first day. Granted, I wore it under an ice hockey helmet (and Looxcie even says it isn't meant to be a ruggedized product). But it's not like I took a shot to the head. It was just pushing it under a relatively tight helmet that did it, disappointingly. The worst aspect of this product however is what must go down as one of the oddest technical and business decisions of all time: The camera requires a smart phone to operate. You can now use an Android phone as well as an iPhone. That is mandatory. I have no idea why. Granted, it is a cute to use the phone display as a view finder. Kudos for that. It is also nifty to be able to quickly upload 30 second snippets of video to all kinds of sites. I like that as well and can think of plenty of uses for that. But I can also think of plenty of scenarios where I need more. And you don't get that. You have to use the phone to do all video editing. The camera has some proprietary internal storage mechanism you can't get to unless you turn your buffered video into snippets of up to 30 minutes of video. So you use your phone to scan back and forth in videos to cut them. If you have ever used the iPhone video player, you know what a pain that is. Now when you do that, the video is still stored on the camera. And grabbing these video segments is SLOW. I think what happens is that the phone grabs video segments from the camera, puts them together into a video file, and then puts it back onto the camera. Or maybe it just somehow instructs the camera to do this. Either way, it takes forever. (You can also download videos to your phone, once they are saved as snippets. That is even slower. Downloading 5 minutes of video to my iPhone took 15 minutes or so... and then it crashed the phone). Which is no big surprise really, because neither the camera nor a smart phone has enough power to do a lot of video editing. And your segments are limited to 30 minutes max.And if it is more than a minute or 2, it is too large to just upload to sites like YouTube of Facebook. So what you will end up doing is this: You have the camera recording (which is a bit fidgety, but OK). Then, you use your phone to try to edit the segment you want. You then wait for that to save (like 10 minutes or more). Then, you repeat the same thing with your next 30 minutes. Except it is almost impossible to find the right stitching points. If you want all 5 hours of video, you need to make at least 10 segments. More likely 15, since you will have trouble with the overlap. You do the math on how long that takes. Then, once you are done, you plug the USB cable into your computer and download the videos. Well, usually it takes a few tries for a Windows 7 machine to recognize the camera as a storage device. But then you can download your video. Why the heck they would not use a PC to allow for editing and view finding is completely beyond me. They could have used PC Bluetooth. They could have used the USB cable. They could have created a powerful app that grabs everything on the camera and then you could have done advanced editing easily on the PC. Or they could have leveraged existing video editing software. And processing videos that are more than 30 minutes would not have been a problem at all!Oh, and you better not change your phone. Because if you change your phone (which most people... especially gadget freaks that are likely to buy this camera... do often) then your camera may be useless. Or who knows? What if Looxcie's software (which only runs with some difficulty on the iPhone now it seems) won't be upgraded to the next version of the OS? Then you are stuck with a camera that can only record 30 second segments of video, because that is all it can do without a phone. This whole decision so boggles my mind, that I would actually like to meet the person who made it, because you really don't often get the opportunity to meet people that think and reason quite so differently from the rest of us. It would be a meeting I would never forget, I am sure ;-)Anyway: I considered giving this product only 2 stars. But on the other hand, it is not all that expensive. And it is kinda nifty in what it does. If only they hap PC software, it would be much better. The overall concept is awesome. I will certainly buy a newer one once they have HD and higher frame rates and such. But for now, it is just a nifty gadget that has potential but doesn't really quite do what you are hoping for.

4I think this thing works great for what it is...
By Seattle_BassMan
Hey, if you're expecting HD quality video on a device you wear over your ear...well, you're kinda out of luck at the moment (though I'm sure that's coming in the not too distant future). But this device actually records better video than I expected. Of course, maybe I just had low expectations. I think really though, I just had realistic expectations and the Looxcie has met or exceeded those. I was thrilled to see this device in the pages of Popular Science a couple months ago, then bummed to find out that it was not available for the iPhone at that time. Luckily they got the iPhone version ready before the Christmas season and my wife hit a home run by making sure it was under the tree in time.I've only been using the Looxcie for one day so far (since Christmas), but I've recorded a bunch of clips and also downloaded the entire video buffer (a welcome new feature) to my Mac (a very simple process) and the video looked quite good. Yeah, it's a little grainy, but not bad. It's certainly better than my ability to remember every detail of every moment. Also, it looks like they have a new feature coming to iPhones that adds 30fps at 480 resolution, so the quality will be even better (granted with a shorter record time).I've never seen a device like this before, so I'm willing to live with it not quite being everything to everyone at this point. I'm sure it will get better and even at its current stage I'd say it's pretty darn good. The biggest downside for me is that it seem quite big compared to a standard bluetooth headset. I was concerned that I would get a lot of weird looks and stares from people. But, I quickly realized that most people either were not concerned with what I was wearing on my ear or just thought it was an old school blue tooth headset. I do wish it was a bit smaller though...but I'm sure that will come in time as well. Overall I'm quite happy with the device so far.

5My Looxcie is Awesome
By BonZo
I tend to loose my bluetooth headsets a lot, and since I do a lot of rock climbing I thought I would give the Looxcie a shot (and hopefully since it's a little larger then the normal bluetooth maybe I won't loose this one). It's been great! It has an excellent earpiece. Pairing it with my Droid was really easy. I've taken several video's while climbing and they've all turned out with really good quality. The Looxcie has been really reliable for me. I also like the fact that it's there when I need it. Several times I've been walking with the dogs or out on the point and have been able to record on the fly. It's made for a lot of fun later on when sharing stories with folks. The Looxcie is really worth the price - I highly suggest if your going to look at a bluetooth earpiece give this a try. You won't be disappointed.

3Okay for a car; not for a truck
By Ralph
This product is fine for a "quiet" environment such as a car but, when you try to use it in a noisy environment, such as a large truck, it is not very effective.

4Good and not just "for the price" good
By GREG
I bought the BHT220 first and with the quality of the sound from them decided I would try the in ear type. I am not the type to care what the headphones look like as long as they provide great sound. I regularly use a very high end set of corded headphones so imagine my surprise when I was throughly impressed with the sound quality of these headphones. I typically do not use ear "buds" because I find them irritating from the second I put them on. These particular units were quite comfortable for about 3 hrs before I started feeling some discomfort. The bud stalk swivels and the bud ends rotate so getting a good comfortable fit was easy as long as you follow the diagrams in the directions. If not, have fun trying to twist and rotate these to fit correctly. The rest of the unit, neck wrap and side controls were non issues. Never knew they were there. Very easy to navigate my music and volume controls. Instructions say they are "light rain and moderate sweat proof", and I belive that statement, these are covered in a waterproof tacky type rubber where the headphones meet your head and the ear stalks themselves. Completely flexible and moved with my head and never came loose or moved out of position. I charged these for approximately 2.5 hrs out of the box before using and have 4 hours of time on them so far. Since I own both pairs of Kinivo BT headphones I can say with certainty that they make a great set of music oriented headphones. I like the fact that you can actually turn the volume all the way to full and there is no distortion whatsoever from the highs or bass frequencies. ( I do not recommend doing that with the ear buds of any MFG ) I listen to Trance, Metal, Acoustical, and of course Bass music. I found with the largest ear adapters in place, this significantly increased the level of bass as compared to the medium size that are preinstalled. I would recommend these to people who like to be fashion conscious and appear as if they have nothing on their heads as well as ANYONE looking for great quality sound. Worth every penny and 3x more in my opinion.

1Not convenient to operate.
By pegspaws
Unfortunately this headset did not work for me. It was uncomfortble fitting into my ears and the controls were very difficult to discern once placed on your head. If the were easier to determine from each other I might have given it more of a chance. As it was, I went back to the LG bluetooth headset which is very easy to operate on or off your head.

2Uncomfortable, poor controls, not recommended
By Jojo99
I was disappointed in this headset. While it looks sleek & modern, it was difficult to adjust for me, painful to wear, the single MF button was annoying and the the bass was lacking.- First, the fit. Yes, the earpiece's can adjust along two axis but the critical adjustment they are missing is up/down on the stem. Everyone's ear is sized differently and I could not get a good adjustment no matter how much I fiddled with this headset. Then there is the matter of actual comfort. For me, the BTH360S was uncomfortable over time. At first the headset felt OK, but over a couple of hours, the hard plastic sides pressing behind my ears created a most annoying pressure on the back of my skull. Even turning my head with them on became uncomfortable. Given that the whole headset is basically made out of the same inflexible hard plastic, there was so way to adjust away this problem. Why make a headset that needs to fit a wide-range of skull sizes out of an inflexible material?- Perhaps because I could not get the earbuds to seat well, I felt that the bass was weak and that the earbuds did not sufficiently isolate from ambient sounds.- The multi-function control button stinks. Period. It takes about 4 seconds to turn the headset on. And you have to hold the headset and watch it because if you hold the button down for too long, you will wind up in pairing mode instead. There are 11! functions wired into this one button. Sheese. How many pennies did they save by loading this one button with 11 separate functions? "Short press", "long press", "press and hold", "long press for 2 seconds", etc. These are all control functions from the user manual. You need to carry the user manual with you to use this headset! And why put the MF button, the up AND the down button in a single line on the same ear side (right ear)? This makes it hard to ensure you press the right button. Go to turn the volume down and you might just disconnect or mute a call you are on.While the external design of this headset is elegant, from a usability perspective, I can only give this product 2 stars. I would not recommend it to most other people.

1Good idea, but awfull implementation
By J_Sanse
It is a shame, It is a very good idea to have a bluetooth headset with retractable earpluge...But there are some mistakes which make it a pour device:- It does not support A2DP, so you cannot use it for listen your music, just for telephone calls: they choose the cheapest Bluetooth chip.- It is bulky, I am sure it can be made smaller: Bad design.- The cord does not retract completelly, 1-2 centimeters are allways loose: Bad assembly- When retracted, the earpluge is hanging out of the case, it should fit inside the case: Bad design.And... it is expensive! considering what you get IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE!Jesus

5sweet surprise!
By Estapho
I actually bought several units as gifts but kept one for myself. I was blown away by its quality and versatility considering the price. Pairing is super easy on the iPhone:1. hold the power button until the blue and red lights flash2. press connect on the ABH01F in the bluetooth mode on the phoneI cranked the volume up all the way on the headphone as it's easier to control the volume from my cell or ipad. It doesn't state on the manual that it has noise cancellation feature but trust me, once the music is on, you can not hear anything else. The sound quality is crisp and way above average. However, don't expect Bose sound quality as it's fraction of the price. The headset fits pretty snug and comfortably on my head. If there was a way to adjust the fit to be tighter, that would have been great. The other cool feature is the built in mic. I was skeptical at first, but it handles incoming calls very well. Just change the source back to the music source after the call to go back to listening your tunes. It comes with a 3.5m. to USB cable to charge by computer or any USB Charger. I often have it charging on my USB car charger while driving. Lastly, it also comes with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable so if you don't want to connect via bluetooth you can just plug in by wire without compromising the sound quality. This is definitely a great deal.

4Good Bluetooth Headphones with some drawbacks
By Edmund Young
Pros:- foldable headphones for portability- well cushioned ear pads- wireless- ability to connect your headset directly to your 3.5 mm audio jack using the included cable- good battery life- price (for what you get)Cons- Single port for headphone jack and recharging the device- non-replaceable cushions- bluetooth and it's annoyances (but is relatively minor)- dosen't always pair in stereo on my macbook pro (iPad and iPhone devices were no problem)- USB to 3.5 mm charging cable (much harder to replace this thing)The Aluratek ABH01F Bluetooth headphones was my first bluetooth headset for listening to podcasts, music, and whatever audio needs I had. My paired devices were an iPad, iPhone and a 15 inch Macbook Pro from mid 2009. As advertised, the headset is able to remember up each one of my devices (up to 6 devices as indicated by the manufacturer). I really enjoy the freedom from wires. keeps your desktop clear of clutter. If you run out of power, use the included 3.5 mm male-to-male cable to keep listening to your audio. I also like the battery life of the headset, I can listen for several hours, or even a couple days depending on usage between charges. The headphone controls work with the iPhone and iPad to play, skip, take calls, etc. (they do not work when using the 3.5 mm male to male cable). In addition, the price of the headphones were relatively reasonable compared to more expensive bluetooth headphones for similar sound quality. I won't say they are as clean or as much a pleasure to listen to music as my AKG headphones but they give me the freedom to walk around wirelessly with good sound. There are, of course, annoyances to the headset. Bluetooth in a Major City can get frequency interference, resulting in skipping of music while you walk around. However, while at home, I have no problems using this headset. Bluetooth pairing in the beginning is simple and generally pain free. But with any bluetooth device, pairing and unpairing the headphones require shutting down and turning back on the headphones. Repairing the headphones to a new device in the beginning seemed cumbersome and sometimes frustrating. Sometimes you get stereo, and sometimes you don't when paired with my macbook pro. On the other hand, once I got used to using the headphones, they worked fine, getting stereo pairing the majority of the time with my macbook pro. Now I do enjoy using them. Charging the device also means you can't listen to audio simultaneously. The 3.5 mm jack can be used to either charge the headphones with the included USB to 3.5 mm male cable or using the 3.5 mm male to male cable to continue to listen to audio. It's kind of annoying that you can't do both at the same time. Also using a USB to 3.5 mm male cable means that if you lose it, you're kind of out of luck to charge your device. I would have preferred a standard mini USB cable plug and a separate 3.5 mm audio input jack on the headphones.Even with the annoyances, I enjoy using these headphones. Being wireless is with the trade-offs of being wired to my desk. Sound quality could be better and there are annoyances, but I can work around them. I would still purchase these headphones and enjoy walking around wirelessly listening to my music.

1Stopped syncing after 2 weeks
By blammas
I purchased this unit based on the great reviews. Overall the product has a lot going for it, they are comfortable, have better than average sound quality, and were really easy to setup. Unfortunately within two weeks of use the headphones stopped syncing with my iPhone, and are now useless. If you are based out of the US, I would not recommend purchasing these, as I ended up paying $80 USD, and they are now nothing more than a paperweight.

3Well designed, but no noise reduction, and that manual...
By Bill Stein
Let me start by saying this is a great headset. Comfortable, lightweight, and easy to hear and operate. The layout of the controls is spot-on; they're easy to use and locate. The button on the end of the mic boom is awesome for answering and ending calls. If your phone has voice-dialing, holding down that button will launch your phone's voice dialing feature. The volume rocker was easy to use; however, pushing it in to mute the mic produced the same tone as swiveling the rocker to change the volume, so you never really knew if you had muted your call or just adjusted the volume. They really should have had different tones associated with those functions, especially since it's two distinct functions in one control. Range and battery life were all outstanding. Charging is quick, and the status light is handy. Pairing was a snap; worked first time. It's comfortable enough to wear for long periods, and it's very unobtrusive. Not so much that you'd forget it's there, but enough to leave on and not bug you. This headset has only two downfalls. One: no noise reduction circuitry. The microphone on the headset works very well; unfortunately, too well if there's *any* sort of noise in the area -- another conversation, a TV twenty feet away, a barking dog in the next room -- were all as clearly heard by my caller as my own voice, prompting her to ask me to move to another room where it wasn't quite so loud. And trying to use it in the car, forget it. I was told that I was barely distinguishible from the noise of the car. Two: The manual. This is one of those manuals where they give you one small illustration and 327 different languages (actually, it's only 7, but it feels like 327) on each page, so the pairing instructions took up about 5 pages, but about half a napkin's worth of content. That's a thoroughly annoying feature; so annoying to me that I skipped the manual altogether and went straight to the website to get the instructions all in one language. That's significant enough to me to be a downfall. All in all, this is a great entry-level Bluetooth headset, priced right for the "value-conscious" consumer. But for anyone who expects superior quality conversations, rivaling those offered by your "actual phone," I would pay more for a better quality headset with some noise-cancelling circuitry. I suggest looking at the Jabra FreeSpeak BT250. It's got the same general wrap-around-the-ear design, but it's a little more than the Plantronics (about twice the price at the time of this writing). However, it's still under $100, and with built-in noise reduction, it's well worth it, IMHO.

2Disappointing
By Ruth Edlund
I bought this for use with a Treo 650.It took a couple of tries to get the two devices to play nicely together. The instruction manual is particularly hard to follow. Each page has a cryptic drawing followed by a single sentence in about ten languages, followed by another cryptic drawing, etc. The buttons are very small and can be difficult to operate precisely even for someone with small hands. The battery does not hold a charge for anywhere near the hours it is supposed to on standby.I have fairly small ears close to my head, and the headset always feels like it is about to fall off. Sometimes it actually has fallen off.The rubber gizmo that is supposed to rest inside the ear comes detached *very* easily. The unit ships with two spare gizmos, which may not last me a month.Sound quality is okay but all in all this is a long run for a short slide. Plantronics usually makes better products than this.

3Watch out for fit
By Andrew Chen
While I found the range to be quite decent (>20ft on a Nokia 6230) and sound quality to be a bit staticy but still fairly good, the thing just didn't fit very tightly. The headset is large and moves around easily, particularly if you use the buttons a lot or wear glasses.

5This handset really works! I would give it 10 stars!
By Michael F. Wright
This is the same phone/handset as the WCI branded handset. I was asked if I would share my review here too. There were no written reviews for this particular handset when I purchased it, so here you go!The handset itself has some weight to it, it is not flimsy, it does not creek or feel cheap in your hand. The color is flat black, along with the charger base. The charger base is also very well constructed, it too has a solid feel and some weight to it. It has a 3 foot long mini USB to USB cord to charge the base. Mini USB plugs into the base, the other end plugs into a small wallwart that plugs into an outlet, all are black in color. The actual surface area of the phone itself is hard to explain, it is not slick, but almost has a tacky feel to it. It is constructed of some sort of rubberized plastic, it feels good in your hand. I don't see it slipping out of your hands, like when you go for the phone when you are doing dishes and don't quite get your hands dry... You know what I mean. I am very impressed with the quality of this handset and charger base. Someone actually put some thought into this product. Now, how well does it work? I have the iPhone 4, it paired up quickly and easily. The instructions that came with the handset are very clear in regards to using and pairing this device. I was paired in less than 20 seconds. It works flawlessly with the iPhone iOS 6 Voice Command. Pick up the handset, push the connect button on the back of the handset, say who you want to call and it automatically dials, very cool! The sound? It sounds crystal clear with my phone. There is no echo, background noise or hollow tinny sound. I was very impressed with the sound, as was my wife. For my sound test, me and my wife took turns on the house telephone, we called my iPhone and spoke on the handset. We both agreed it sounded incredibly clear and was of fantastic quality. It sounded REALLY good, it did not sound like either of us were talking over a bluetooth unit.Answering the phone, it picked up immediately by pressing the white button on the back of the handset. Very user friendly.Distance was roughly 40 feet, and it works through walls and even through the floor. My wife walked down to the basement and it was clear until she hit a 30 foot distance mark and we then had some static, but the call did not drop. So, you have time to get back into range if you start wandering a bit to far from your phone.Battery life is very good. Easily went an hour+ with mom when we finally hung up. It was still going strong. All in all, this is a high quality unit, we are both very pleased and impressed. If you are in the market for a retro handset, want a quality unit that really works, AND cradles nicely between your head and shoulder, this handset is for you. I highly recommend, and love being able to use a classically designed phone handset again. There are some really good designs from years ago, this is one of them, and glad someone "built this". ;)

4A Christmas gift
By Pen Name
So far the gift has been working well... I only have one complaint. I wish that every time I entered my house that the Bluetooth receiver would atomically connect. Instead when ever I receive a call or make a call I have to choose the Bluetooth receiver.

5nostalgic value with a twist of bluetooth technology
By Travis Linares
This brings back some nostalgic value with a twist of bluetooth technology. I would suggest holding it down white button for a full 10 seconds to make the devices Discovered. The Feel of the products is well made, and the customer service was fantastic. I had to get a second device sent to me, due to a charger missing, but the product works fantastic. You can use just about any microusb charger for this device also. Clarity seems to be very well on both sides from the calls placed. I would recommend this device for anyone that doesn't want to hold the phone up to your face for long periods of time, it feels right at home.
